This course is designed to specifically meet or exceed the educational requirements outlined by the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency (ARRA) for Medical Assistants / Laser Technicians utilizing Laser and Light-Based technologies in Aesthetic Applications (40 Hour Laser Didactic Course).


This course provides an overview of National and State laser safety regulations written by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency (ARRA) in conjunction with a detailed review of laser physics, Laser and IPL applications in aesthetics (including: hair reduction, vascular lesions, skin resurfacing, photo rejuvenation, pigmented lesion and tattoo removal).  Possible complications are discussed while reviewing pre and post photos of real patients throughout the presentation.  And, skin histology and bio-effects associated with Laser and IPL applications are discussed in detail along with consultation strategies to improve patient understanding and acceptance of reasonable expectations.  Paperwork required to meet State regulations is reviewed and questions are discussed in an open format.
